Event Details

CrisisCommons in collaboration with the World Bank, Mozilla Foundation, Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars will host the first International CrisisCongress on Friday, July 16, 2010 from 8:00AM - 6:00PM.

The International CrisisCongress will bring together CrisisCamp city leads, non-profits, private sector, response agencies and volunteers to share lessons learned from CrisisCamp Haiti and CrisisCamp Chile and explore the development of a volunteer technology community, CrisisCommons.

This event will take place in the 13th Floor Conference Room at the World Bank located at 1818 H Street, NW, Washington DC 20006. Please bring a photo ID or valid passport for entry. Please enter in the H Street Visitors entrance. You will be asked to remove your computer from your bag and go through security.

For directions to the World Bank please click to their website here.  The closest Metro Stop on the Orange Line is Farragut West (Orange Line) or the Red Line Farragut North. Both are about 15 minute walk to the World Bank.

There will be local Wi-Fi, but if you wish to use laptops, please bring a cord with an extension and even a power strip to share.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided by the generous support of the World Bank. Facilitation support by Allen Gunn has been provided by the Mozilla Foundation. Travel funding for CrisisCamp city leads was provided by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.

The event in its entirety will be broadcast via webstream and archived on www.crisiscommons.org. A webstream link will be posted on this invitation on Thursday at 7AM. The Webcast will begin promptly at 8:30AM.

Directly following this event will be an open reception sponsored by the World Bank in the President's Gallery. All participants are invited to attend.
